Ali Vakilian received his PhD in Computer Science from MIT in 2019. Previously, he completed his Masters degree in Computer Science at UIUC. Before joining TTIC as a Research Assistant Professor, he spent two years as a Postdoctoral Researcher at IDEAL institute.
Ali’s research interests include combinatorial optimization, approximation algorithms, algorithms for massive data (e.g., streaming, sublinear and local computation), algorithmic fairness and algorithms with predictions.
Dr. Vakilian also has a personally maintained website which can be found at http://www.ttic.edu/vakilian.
